When life becomes difficult, therapy can be valuable in providing the support and assistance you need to regain your equilibrium.
As a holistic psychotherapist for more than 30 years, I have incorporated an array of traditional and complementary skills and techniques into my healing work with clients. As a therapist, I work with people who may be experiencing anxiety or depression or those who are going through a difficult life transition or healing from old wounds or hurtful patterns. As a wellness educator and yoga and meditation teacher with advanced training in mind/body health and wellness, I also offer stress and relaxation techniques, Mindfulness Meditation, Integrative Yoga Therapy and spiritual support to those who may want to explore these techniques. People often come to work with me on retreats, for any number of reasons, including to Quit Smoking or let go of other hurtful patterns.
My contemplative approach has, at it's foundation, the belief that each of us possesses a true nature which is full of wisdom, awareness and compassion. By blending Eastern mindfulness practices with Western psychology, I will assist you in moving beyond blocks, fears and habit so that you can reconnect with this deepest truth of who you are.
I live and work in a peaceful valley in the N. Georgia mountains, just over an hour from Atlanta. My Office Hours are from 10 a.m. through 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, as well as options on one or two Saturdays a month. Living in a rural setting has also invited me to explore and offer other options for clients who may not be able to easily come to my office.
Counseling/Psychotherapy: Counseling sessions are suited for people experiencing anxiety, worry, depression or loss or for those who need support and guidance to navigate life's many transitions. Perhaps you are experience what feels like a loss of heart or loss of soul. You may find yourself repeating hurtful patterns or unable to heal old wounds. Counseling is also suited for those who may be feeling discouraged on a spiritual level.
Couples may also benefit by learning skills for improving their relationship and communication by becoming more compassionate, flexible, supportive and respectful of each other.
Phone Counseling and Life Coaching - These convenient, confidential sessions are an effective solution for untangling life's difficulties, bringing about clarity and meaningful change. While in-person sessions were once thought to be optimal, research and experience have shown that phone consultations can be equally beneficial for counseling and are preferred for coaching. I welcome you in either setting, depending on which works best for you.
Personal Retreats offer an in-depth experience designed to deepen your healing process and enhance your life. Most often you'll stay in a nearby cabin or B & B while integrating sessions with me at my center into your time away. We'll decide together which tools we may use for your retreat, choosing among Mindfulness Meditation, Relaxation & Stress Reduction,Guided Imagery, Counseling, Coaching, Hypnosis, Yoga & more. I may also suggest journaling, creative projects, topics for inquiry and reflection and time in nature to enhance your retreat time. I am inspired by this way of meeting with clients - it is dynamic and often transformative.
While on retreat you may also choose massage therapy or spa services, acupuncture or reflexology with my associates at Nacoochee Crossing Wellness Center to enhance the experience of rest and renewal that a retreat offers. Our peaceful valley has everything you need to make your stay complete and fulfilling. I am happy to help you coordinate the perfect experience.
